Marks&Spencer Messicani

I love my local Marks& Spencer's food department. They seem to make even their frozen french fries look classy. I normally do most of my food shop at Asda or Tesco but on occasions when i'm bored of the same old thing and want something indulgent i find Marks& Spencer pefect. Their ability to package the food so luxurious while ready to pop straight into the oven is brilliant. It's like they took the ready meal to the next level. Anyway i'm rambling now.
My most recent purchase was their
Messicani pasta. My kids call it button pasta and you can see why in the picture. I tried this tonight with a tomato and basil sauce but i think a nice creamy sauce would be just as perfect. The thickness of the pasta gives it a lovely texture as i tend to over cook pasta especially fusilli and the folded ends are brilliant for holding in the sauce. It was a hit with me and definately the kids.
Someone recently said to me what's the point in buying all different shapes of pasta but i totally disagree. For me the shape of the pasta can completely change a dish and offer something different, new and interesting. Just how i would sum up most of the wonderful Marks and Spencer's range. However i wish my purse would agree.

Tesco Fizzio Zero

Product: Tesco Fizzio

Comments: I don't know about you guys but at the weekends we spend a fortune on branded fizzy drinks. Particulary Coke, Vinto, Fanta to name a few. While doing my online shopping i was horrified adding it all up how much we spend a month on just fizzy drinks alone so i decided to look at the Tesco branded Fizzo.     Obviously they don't advertise that it is Vinto they have copied but by the similar packaging and colour of the drink it was not hard to guess.
To be honest i didn't have high expectations and by the look of my husbands face he didn't either. We were proven wrong, it was lovely and a very close match to Vimto. It is very light and sweet and not to sickly. You wouldn't guess it is a zero sugar drink. Overall it was a big hit and i would buy this again unlike the Tesco Coke (yuk). I did have a little bit of Pepsi while it was on offer but you have to have a little treat every now and again ;-)

REVIEW: Silverrock Merlot 2012

Product: Silverrock Merlot 2012

Comments: Recently for our wedding anniversary we received our annual bottle of red from my Grandmother as a gift. I was cooking our midweek cottage pie (kiddies favourite) and i thought why not crack it open and give it a try.
I am not normally one for drinking red during the summer as i used to think it was best on a cold winters day preferably while eating a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. However after trying it i think i have found the perfect summer red.
I am definately no Jilly Gooldren or Oz Clarke, describing wine to walks in bluebell filled forests and tannins, i just tell it as it is.
I found this merlot so light and as smooth as my two years olds beautiful chubby cheeks. Ok so that is a little silly, now i see why these wine buffs get carried away with their eccentric wine references. Anyway on my my review.
The wine tasted lovely and fruity with berrie and plum flavours. I could almost compare it to an adult version of the sugar free vimto. Yes another silly reference but you get my gist. To sum up it was beautifully light, smooth and fruity. It would compliment most dishes due to how light it is. I would definately buy it again.

REVIEW: The Good Grain Co. Puffed Wheat Cereal

Product: The Good Grain Co. Puffed Wheat Cereal

Comments: On a recent healthy eating phase I saw a box of "The Good Grains Co. Puffed Wheat" in my local Asda, instantly liking that it is high in Fibre with no Salt or Sugar.... bingo i brought it, it is a little bland which was expected comparing it too our honey monster friend, so i added milk and chopped banana or any other fruit I had which complimented it perfectly, kids love it so one happy mother!

I just love how light they are yet strangly filling at the same time.

REVIEW: Mr Muscle Bathroom & Toilet Cleaner

Product: Mr Muscle Bathroom & Toilet Cleaner

Comments: I used this cleaner for the first time yesterday and have to say it is brilliant, what i love most is that its a powerful cleaner but with no harsh fumes just a nice orange scent.

Everything was streak free and i have to say really shiny, makes cleaning allot easier than using cheaper alternatives.

REVIEW: Russell Hobbs Steamglide Professional Iron

Product: Russell Hobbs Steamglide Professional Iron

Comments: I purchased this iron in the Argos sale at half price and read a few good reviews so thought why not, Big mistake! (There isn't any wonder why it was half price!)

Firstly the water spray button stays in when you press it, secondly it does not do what it says on the tin as they say, why they called it a Steamglide is beyond me let alone professional, the steam is not continuous don't get me wrong its very powerful for one short blast but for general gliding around the clothes not so much talking of which there is no chance of gliding this iron as its weight is unbelievable its more like a clamp therefore with continuous use you feel like you've done a session at the gym.

It has to be noted than compared to previous irons used the power cord length is more than adequate.

Welcome...

Hi everyone and thank you for popping by and taking a look at our Review Hut.

Hopefully we'll answer as many questions as possible here and help you better understand what we are about and what we aim to do.

We are your average family Husband; RM 30 years old, Wife; AM 29 years old with two little girls CM & EM who are 4 and 2 respectively.

We thought about the idea of a simple blog allowing us to share with others reviews of everyday items, anything from food and drink to days out etc... we are not aiming for freebies from companies we want to review things we purchase/ use for that real life experience however if there is anything you want us to review or have ideas for anything send us an email to reviewhut@outlook.com and we'll look into the feasibility of reviewing it.

All that being said we have been asked by smaller companies to review things since we started with this idea however we always stressed and always will that even if we take that approach it gets the same life review as if we had spent out hard earned cash on it.

Anyway enough for now, like I said if you have anything else to ask please get in touch.

Follow us on twitter @thereviewhut

Enjoy your Sunday people!
